ALABASTER
Color is similar to a partly
ripe raspberry, leaning toward light or dark magenta, maroon,
pink, or dusky pink. Finished sculptures or carvings take a
good polish and the natural color is enhanced by stripes or
layered banding of white in most pieces. A solid, durable
sculpting medium of just the right hardness. Many shapes like
persons or animals or creative other pieces have been
sculpted from this material. We are known worldwide for
this alabaster, for which artists have won many awards.
This is our signature stone, sculpted by many Native Americans.
6" up to 20" in thickness by
any width or height, blocky pieces 15 lbs. to 10 tons. We can
ship longer freeform, slender, other shapes or natural
trimmed shapes.
